Cemetery

The Village of South Amherst, through its Cemetery Board, administers and maintains two cemeteries within the Village. Evergreen Cemetery operates out of South Amherst Village Hall, 103 W. Main St., South Amherst, OH 44001.

The cemetery board meets the second Wednesday of every month at the Village Hall, 6:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the public.

The historical site of Pioneer Cemetery is located on S. Lake St. and is the resting place of many of our early settlers. The Board gives high priority to maintaining its integrity and planning for its ongoing needs.

Evergreen Cemetery is located on West Main Street (Route 113) next to The United Methodist Church. Evergreen has a beautiful Memorial Garden which was added in 2005. The board is diligent in maintaining the property and serving the needs of the community.

Evergreen Cemetery hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during Daylight Savings Time, the evening hour is extended until 8:00 p.m.
